Edward F. Bartik
Edward F. Bartik was born on 12 October, 1892 in Chicago, Illinois.
Edward registered for military service on 5 June, 1917, at the age of 24. He lists his occupation as a commercial representative for the American District Telegraph Company, the job he would hold for 47 years.
Corporal Bartik (2066121) departed New York City, bound for France on 17 September, 1918, on the U.S.S. Empress of Russia, as part of Company “C” 311th Field Signal Battalion, 86th Division. After the war, he departed from Brest, France, on 26 December, 1918.
On 1 August, 1936, he married Elsie Keller in Chicago. He was a member of Laundale Lodge No. 995 Free and Accepted Masons, The Medina Temple, The Scottish Rite and the Consistery in Chicago. He was also a member of The American Legion of Riverside, IL and the 40 and 8 of Chicago.
He passed away in the McNeill Memorial Hospital in Berwyn, IL on 30 December, 1959, of a cerebral Vascular Hemorrhage. His funeral was held at the Berndt Funeral Home, conducted by the Hartford Masonic Lodge. He rests in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Connecticut.
